Read first. Choose thoughtfully.
Useful reading for the questions before a purchase. Explore labels, prepare for a conversation with your healthcare professional, and find the practical details of ordering.
General education. Not personal medical advice.Label literacyRead beyond the front of the bottle.
A practical way to work through a supplement label.
The front of a bottle introduces a product. The rest of its label gives you more of the information you need to ask useful questions. Start with the exact product and version in your hands, rather than a similar name or an older image online.
Start with the serving size
Find the Supplement Facts panel and read the serving size before comparing amounts. The amount listed for a serving is not necessarily the amount in one capsule. Read the units alongside the numbers, and look for the number of servings per container.
Read the rest of the label
Review the dietary ingredients, amounts per serving and other ingredients. Then look for directions and warnings. A short product name is not a substitute for the full ingredient list. If an image is too small to read, ask for a clearer label instead of filling in the gaps.
Keep a question list
Note anything you do not understand, including an unfamiliar ingredient or a warning that might apply to you. Bring the label to a qualified healthcare professional. A label explains what a product says it contains; it does not decide whether the product is appropriate for you.
General information, not a product recommendation.
A better conversationWhat to ask before adding a supplement.
Bring the label. Bring your questions. Leave room for “not for me.”
You do not need to arrive at an appointment with a product already chosen. A useful starting point is the question you want help answering. Describe what you are considering and why, without treating a product description as a diagnosis.
Make the conversation specific
Bring the complete label and a list of medicines and supplements you already use. Include the amounts and how often you take them. Mention relevant health conditions and any planned procedure. Before taking a dietary supplement, ask a qualified healthcare professional about its use. The source links below offer general preparation for that conversation.
Questions worth writing down
- Is a supplement appropriate for my situation at all?
- Could this interact with a medicine or supplement I already take?
- Does anything in my health history change the advice?
- What information would you need before advising me about this product?
- If you recommend using it, what directions and follow-up should I understand?
Do not turn uncertainty into a guess
If you do not have a clear answer, pause and ask again. Do not replace a prescribed medicine with a supplement on the basis of an article or a product page. This checklist is preparation for a conversation, not individual medical guidance.

Shopping notesFrom choosing an item to checking your order.
The details to review before checkout, and what to keep afterward.
Before adding an item, check the product name, the selected option, quantity, price and availability. If the page offers more than one purchase option, review the option you selected rather than assuming that every purchase has the same terms.
Check the final details
At checkout, review your delivery address, contact email, available shipping option and order total before paying. Shipping information and return conditions answer different questions; read both. Do not treat a transit estimate as a guarantee of an arrival date.
Keep your confirmation
Save your order confirmation and use any tracking link provided for that order. If you contact support, include your order number, the email used at checkout and a short description of the issue. Do not send payment-card information.
If something needs attention
For an incorrect or damaged item, keep the packaging and any relevant photos while you ask support for instructions. Do not send an item back without directions. The linked service pages explain the applicable information; this guide does not add a delivery promise, cancellation window or refund entitlement.
